The Expo Story
Building on from RICI's successful Disability Support Gathering held at The Oaks in Warkworth in Nov 2025, and based on the feedback we received from that event, we are excited to confirm that RICI’s first Expo is now being planned. Presented by Rodney Inclusive Communities Initiative (RICI), and working with Disability Connect, this Expo has three main intentions:
-
Create an opportunity for the public to connect with local services and support organisations that care for people with disabilities, chronic illness, neurodivergence, mental health challenges, or ageing‐related needs.
-
Empower local disabled people and family carers with local information, resources, community, and self‐care tools
-
Provide a welcoming and informative event for those who may be interested in working or volunteering in this sector
The Expo will be inclusive and culturally welcoming to all, reflecting the diversity of our region. Visitors will also enjoy interactive activities, presentations, and information sessions, while learning about volunteering, training, and employment opportunities in this sector.
RICI is curating this Expo to be a Rodney-wide event designed to connect our community with a range of support organisations, services, and opportunities available across the region. It will feature a diverse mix of exhibitors - from major Auckland-based disability organisations and local emergency services, to experienced service providers and local community support groups.
Don't miss out on being a part of this exciting, inaugural event!

“There are only four kinds of people in the world.
Those who have been caregivers.
Those who are currently caregivers.
Those who will be caregivers, and those who will need a caregiver.”
